Booth #3521
June 9-13
San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, California

Our mission this year at Cisco Live is to help you find an E911 strategy that keeps everyone in your enterprise safe, and that complies with current and proposed E911 regulations.

Be Prepared for What May Come

Starting in 2018, the E911 regulatory sphere has transformed, and a few new laws and proposed regulations could impact enterprises nationwide. Here’s what you should know:

  • E911 legislation in 23 states holds organizations responsible to varying degrees. Find out if your enterprise operates in a state that has existing E911 requirements.
  • Federal - Section 506 of RAY BAUM’s Act requires that by September 23, 2019, the FCC “conclude a proceeding to consider adopting rules to ensure that the dispatchable location is conveyed with a 9-1-1 call, regardless of the technological platform used and including calls from MLTS.”
  • In accordance with the previous two bullets, the FCC issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) in September 2018 to comply with both Kari’s Law and RAY BAUM’S Act. The FCC proposed an effective date of February 16, 2020 for the rules currently being considered in the NPRM.

Did you know UC can break e911?

UC technologies in the enterprise can break the physical association of phones to locations. Failing to provide a caller’s precise location during a 911 emergency can have serious consequences, and puts your enterprise at risk. Check out this short video on how UC can break E911.
