Federal - Section 506 of RAY BAUM’s Act requires that by September 23, 2019, the FCC “conclude a proceeding to consider adopting rules to ensure that the dispatchable location is conveyed with a 9-1-1 call, regardless of the technological platform used and including calls from MLTS.”
In accordance with the previous two bullets, the FCC issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) in September 2018 to comply with both Kari’s Law and RAY BAUM’S Act. The FCC proposed an effective date of February 16, 2020 for the rules currently being considered in the NPRM.
